What AED 599 a year covers

Hosting renewal is AED 599 a year. It covers your hosting, the SSL certificate, your domain renewal and business email for another twelve months.

Your first year is included in most packages. Premium, Business, Enterprise and E-Commerce all come with a year of domain and hosting. The Special Web Offer includes a free domain for a year and one month of hosting, so renewal starts sooner on that package.

How website hosting in Dubai differs from cheap shared plans

You can find hosting online for a few dollars a month. That's real, and if you're comfortable managing it yourself, it can work. But it's just the server. You still have to set up email, renew the SSL, keep the domain paid, and sort it out when something breaks at 9pm on a Thursday.

The AED 599 covers the setup and the looking after, not just the space. For most business owners, the cheapest option stops being cheap the first time the site is down for a weekend and nobody knows who to call.

Business email on your own domain

A Gmail address on a business card makes customers wonder. An address on your own domain looks settled. Packages include business email accounts, from eight on Premium up to 20 on E-Commerce.

If you want them set up on your phone and laptop for you, the business email setup extra is AED 199. It saves an afternoon of settings screens.

Your domain should be in your company's name

This one catches a lot of UAE businesses. The domain gets registered by a web designer, a cousin or an employee who later leaves, and years on nobody can prove who owns it.

Make sure the registrant is your company. For .ae domains, the registry has its own rules on who can register, so keep your trade licence details handy. And keep a note of the renewal date somewhere other than one person's inbox.

Hosting is not maintenance

Hosting keeps the site online. It doesn't change your prices, add photos or update your Ramadan hours. That's website maintenance, which we call Care and support. It's AED 399 a month and separate from hosting.

A site that rarely changes can live happily on hosting alone. Ask for the odd update as a one-off when it comes up.

Business email only helps if it arrives. When we set up mail on your domain, we add the records other mail servers use to check your messages are genuine. Quotes going to a client's junk folder are a common, quiet problem.

If a client says they never got your email, tell us the address and roughly when you sent it, and we'll look into it.
